New Woll Estate & G. C.

Ashkirk, Selkirkshire

Set in the private grounds of New Woll Estate, near Selkirk, in the Scottish Borders, the Woll Golf Course and Restaurant are at the heart of a family business. With luxury self catering houses and cottages overlooking the golf course they form part of the most popular golf resort in the region. Uniquely - guests staying on the Estate play golf for free. Offering fantastic accommodation options, excellent practice facilities and the warmest of welcomes, New Woll Estate is an amazing venue for a golf holiday in Scotland.

Woll Golf Course: The golf course opened in 1993 and under the ownership of the Brown family has been continually developed into the popular 18 hole parkland course we know today. During that period sixteen holes have been redeveloped and all feature USGA specification greens. The course follows the gentle contours of the Ale Valley. Lined with mature trees and water features, the peaceful atmosphere and natural environment of the Estate, ensure guests get the most out of their golfing experience. The course is always in immaculate condition and is playable all-year round. The Woll Golf Course is an eighteen hole, parkland layout, with a par of 70 (M), and a par of 70 (W). It has tees ranging from 5,323 to 6,010 yards.

SGB Signature Hole: Name: ‘The Pond’, Hole 17. Measuring 134 yards (W) and 172 yards (M) from the tee, this beautiful par 3 is a hole where good club selection and accuracy are key. Protected on the right by a pond running the length of the fairway and in front of the green, and by a mature tree to the left, the green is wide yet shallow in depth. From the tee-box, the impression given is that the target area is small. Avoid the water at all costs A well struck shot to the heart of the green is required. Take two putts and walk off  with a well earned par, heading to the last.

Clubhouse, Golf Shop & Practice Facilities: New Woll Estate openly welcomes visiting golfers to share their wonderful clubhouse facilities. Boasting a sun-terrace lounge, with views over the 1st and 18th holes, and across the valley, excellent changing facilities and its own restaurant, the clubhouse is a great place to visit before and after a round of golf.
