Southerness Golf Club & The Cairndale Hotel, Dumfries
First of all, thanks vey much for another amazingly planned weekend of golf. We loved it. Southerness was a dream. Very difficult but brilliant. The hotel was excellent and the four course dinner was fantastic. We lucked out with the weather, considering the thunder storms earlier in the day. Thanks so much for sorting us out. Each delighted golfers.
The Smuggler's Swing: Solway Coast, Dumfries & Galloway
Thank you so much for organising the trip. It was our 4th annual golf trip and unanimously the best so far.
Courses: superb! We played Southerness on day 1 in 40mph winds and torrential rain. Despite that it was a great course and a “proper” Scottish challenge. Dumfries and County was a traditional parkland course in perfect condition.
Then Silloth. What a course! Absolutely stunning and a joy to play. You truly have to think about every shot. Not easy at all but a privilege to play.
Carlisle, our last minute addition. I’m not sure what Powfoot is like but it would have to be good to beat Carlisle. Beautiful holes to look at and to play. A great way to round off the trip.
The Cairndale Hotel: a perfect base with friendly staff and a lovely room. The breakfast was substantial and ideal to load up for the day ahead. The bar was very nice and well stocked! We had the Dinner option included. The food was very nice. My only minor issue was that we were on a set menu with quite limited choice.
Organisation: spot on. You asked all the right questions to provide us with a spectacular 4 days of golf and accommodation. It was exactly what we were looking for and would never have found by ourselves. The communication throughout was excellent. You went above and beyond to get us a round at Carlisle on the last morning when Powfoot closed at short notice. That made such a difference as not playing a final round would have been a bit of a damp squib to end the week.

East Lothian, St Andrews & Fife - Self Drive Tour: Dunbar, Panmure, Elie, The Eden Course & The Kittocks
Everything went like clockwork. Many thanks, Scottish Golf Breaks! The weather was great. The accommodation at Craigielaw was first class, with spacious rooms & an excellent meal. Once again, The Bank Hotel, Anstruther, was perfect for us. A very good breakfast each morning set us up for the whole day & we ate evening meals there twice. Both of which were very good. The welcomes we received at Dunbar, Elie, Panmure and The Kittocks were fantastic and the infrastructure at the Eden Course was impressive. Highlights: Panmure, particularly holes 3 through to 15 which were beautifully framed and offered a range of challenges. Panmure was a top class experience, where we were made to feel like very valued customers. Dunbar is a classic links course and was in excellent condition, while The Kittocks at Fairmont St Andrews was in fabulous condition, offered a great range of holes and views to die for.

Overall we really appreciated the service. You made this super easy. We literally just showed up and everything was booked in and sorted. It could not have been easier. I will absolutely use Scottish Golf Breaks again.
We had a great time, great trip. The lodge at Craigielaw was great, easy to get in and navigate and the food was good as well. Rooms were spacious and the staff was courteous.
As to the courses;
Dunbar was my favourite. Definitely can’t wait to play there again. It might be my favourite course ever. Loved the feel, kind of embedded in the community there and it was really fun to play. Kilspindie was also really great. Very cool layout and was fun to play right there on the water for most of the round.
Craigielaw Lodge & Golf Club, East Lothian
Everything was great! Firstly, the booking. You were very quick to respond and with the personal touch. Your attention to what we were after and contact with myself and the course was excellent. All the arrangements (tee time, accommodation etc.) were spot on. The hotel was perfect. The staff were very welcoming and even had the rooms ready for 11 am. The rooms were excellent; large, spotless, with a great view over the golf course. Couldn’t have been better. The course condition was excellent, especially for the time of year. The greens were excellent, with normal tees and fairways in operation too. Craigielaw is a challenging course that everyone should look to play. The views across to Gullane and Fife were great. We could even see the bridges across the Forth. The practice facilities were very good. In addition, they have a 6-hole par 3 course that was excellent and again everyone should try it.
Leven Links, Fife
I got in touch with Scottish Golf Beaks to help organise some winter links golf for myself and a group of eight friends. SGB suggested Leven Links in Fife. The course, a rich piece of Fife’s golfing history, is a wonderful challenge, was in fine condition, and has greens that were running true and quite fast for this time of the year. I’d like to thank the team at SGB for their excellent and efficient service. We’ll be back in touch to organise another break once the summer arrives.

Just home from our Eyemouth trip, everything was well organised by Scottish Golf Breaks. No problems at all. A great course, we enjoyed every aspect of it. Hotel was immaculate, staff courteous and the breakfast excellent. We hope to put more business your way in the near future.

The service was very streamlined and allowed us to worry about our game, rather than thinking about checking in and finding tee times. Everything was taken care of and both the club and the hotel were expecting us, keeping things smooth. The package is well thought out (short drive from course to hotel, the course itself was lovely etc.) and excellent value

The hotel was great, food was very good. Both courses were great and staff were very helpful with local knowledge. I managed to keep a 6 off my card at Powfoot and played to my 11 HCP at Southeness, in a howling gale. Definitely be back in the new year. Scottish & English Border Reivers: Eyemouth, Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle & Goswick
Well, we had an absolutely brilliant time away and the weather was great. The four golf courses were amazing, our favourite was Bamburgh Castle. The sun was splitting the sky that day and hardly a breath of wind. Doxford Hall Hotel was lovely and the customer service was excellent. We both want to thank you so much for booking this holiday for my “special” birthday. Your guidance and advice throughout the booking process was superb and we will definitely book future golf holidays through Scottish Golf Breaks. Your knowledge of the courses was very helpful and the options you provided were flexible and adaptable to our requests.
The Crail Experience
The Balcomie course was a joy to play with some tricky holes and challenging greens. The Craighead was a really tough track with its course length, dog leg holes and rough that just swallowed your ball. The Balcomie Links Hotel was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Altogether we all thoroughly enjoyed our trip to East Neuk and that’s another two courses ticked off our ‘to play’ list. Thanks again for your first class organisation and excellent communications.
