Situated in the village of Hopeman, on the beautiful Moray Coast, Hopeman Golf Club is one of Scotland’s finest traditional links courses. Combining stunning coastal scenery, outstanding year-round conditioning and a warm Highland welcome, the course provides a memorable golfing challenge for players of every ability. Fairways framed by gorse and broom, spectacular views across the Moray Firth and the famous Prieshach par three create an unforgettable round at this highly regarded Moray links destination.
History: Originally established as a nine-hole course, Hopeman Golf Club was extended to eighteen holes in 1985, creating one of Moray’s most demanding links layouts. A programme of course improvements began in 2018, following recommendations by Mackenzie & Ebert, enhancing both playability and presentation, while preserving the course’s traditional character.
The Links: Hopeman is a traditional links where narrow fairways, natural dunes, gorse and broom reward accuracy over power. Beautifully maintained throughout the year, the course offers spectacular views across the Moray Firth, while challenging golfers with strategic shot-making, ever-changing coastal winds and memorable seaside holes, from the opening tee onwards. The links at Hopeman Golf Club is an eighteen hole, par 68 (men), par 71/ 72/ 74 (women), track. It has tees ranging from 5,079 to 5,654 yards.
SGB Signature Hole: Hole 12, The Prieshach. Measuring 133 yards (W) and 150 yards (M) from the tee, this spectacular par three plays to a green lying more than 100 feet below the tee. Panoramic views across the Moray Firth accompany one of Scotland’s most memorable short holes, described by Paul Lawrie OBE as one of the best par threes he has ever played. If it is good enough for Paul Lawrie, its good enough for us.
