History: Founded in 1909, Murcar Links was originally designed by Archie Simpson before later enhancements by renowned architect James Braid. The Championship Course: Murcar Links is an eighteen-hole championship links renowned for towering dunes, firm fairways and strategically placed bunkers. The layout demands thoughtful shot-making while taking full advantage of the natural coastal landscape. Constantly influenced by North Sea winds, the course provides a fair but demanding challenge for golfers of every ability.
SGB Signature Hole: Hole 7 - Serpentine. This demanding par starts with an intimidating tee shot, over the burn, gorse to the left, and out of bounds to the right. It threads through towering dunes before turning towards a well-guarded green. Accuracy from the tee is essential, while the ever-changing coastal winds and natural undulations create a classic Scottish links challenge that rewards thoughtful course management.
Clubhouse, Professional Shop & Practice Facilities: The welcoming clubhouse overlooks the course and offers comfortable lounges, dining facilities, locker rooms and changing areas for members and visitors. The professional shop stocks leading golf brands, equipment and accessories, while PGA professionals provide coaching. Practice facilities include a driving range, short-game area and putting green.
